eight down, one to go

Yes I know, this blog post is late; but just like you I procrastinate and get busy, so you shouldn't expect any more or less.

Well, it's official: Romeo and Juliet has closed at the Ridge. My eight play at Claremont, and my most loved. BTW: This post may start to sound emo... just giving you a pre-warning. I've been so fortunate to have been a part of a wonderful piece of theatre, that had hundreds of people witness it. A timeless classic, set in the 1950's, and acted upon a set of bricks (which I designed, by the way. Your sister is multi-talented). I've been working for just over two years on this play; starting with a monologue in grade ten. And coincidentally, being cast as the Prince, I got to end with a monologue as well. It's been a long push, but after a lot of blood (I ALWAYS hit Juliet's tomb after storming off stage), sweat (painting bricks is hard and stage lights are hot) and tears, it's finally done; and I know this is what I want to do. I want to make magic. And I don't care how hard it may be, but I want to do this for a living. For an hour, two hours, maybe even more, I want to take someone out of their theatre seat and take them on a journey. Create an illusion. (It's a good thing I'll be going to school for this :P)

I'm sorry you couldn't see it, but I was pretty scary. Christine didn't know I could yell so loud, or be so frightening... so here's a picture.

I seem to have this effect on people...

So here's to one more. One last show at the Ridge. The end of an era, but only the beginning of a lifetime.

I love you sister one.

ps: I hope you feel better, get lots of sleep! and say hello to the cousins for me!!!!

Don't let anyone tell you differently; being an adult SUCKS

Hello my sister, it is so strange to me that you're driving yourself. Alone. Around town. That still creeps me out a bit. Especially since I can still remember when you were too short to open my bedroom door. I'm sorry to hear that your time is so busy but that's just the kind of girl you are; go go go! I'm very proud of you for working so hard, I know you are probably amazing in that play and I would give anything to see you in it but I guess I'll have to settle for the DVD version.

So your lazy butt finally decided it was time to get a job eh? Well, that's awesome! I, for one, vote for Thrifty's. It'd be a great part time job for you while you're at Uvic next year too. And no one likes a broke ass girl.

Today I caved in to my weak body and came home from work early to rest. (although that consisted entirely of watching Glee and other TV shows I haven't watched in weeks). I'm racing Saturday but I'll be home from about 2pm my time onwards so if you need to talk, you just call me.

I even took a photo for you demonstrating why I've gone through two boxes of kleenex in the past 24 hours.

Love you Sister 2 <3

I'm officially resurrecting this blog.

I obviously suck at answering your text messages, and I don't get home until 10PM, so I think this is how we're going to keep up with each other.

My week has be pretty hectic, I'm very drained. We're in the second week of Romeo and Juliet; it's been going fairly well. However, we still have a long way to go (or so says Plant). Being in three scenes of a play doesn't give you much "way" to go, but I was told differently. Understandable, there are always ways you can grow and change. We'll see how much more yelling I can do within the next three shows.

I've been driving all over town, spending too much money (on food, though), and as a result I think I may have to apply for employment. It was humorous, mom and I were at Thrifty's and I was bagging the grocery's. The cashier stopped what she was doing, and stared at me curiously, and proceeded to ask me if I had a job. I replied appropriately, and she said "You should apply here, you look like you know what you're doing, and they're hiring!" So I picked up an application. I have yet to hand it in. Maybe tomorrow. So, for the time being, I have to ask mom for seven dollars so I can pick up Subway tomorrow for dinner before the show.

The gang is pretty solid. We're all drained from the show, but we're pulling together and supporting each other. Your sister is well taken care of :).

However, I have learned something within the last few weeks (coming from the bard himself):

"Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice." Good words. Polonious knew what he was talking about.

Anyways, it is almost 12AM my time and 3AM your time. I have a show tomorrow and have to be up in 6 hours, so I should get some rest. I hope you're having a good time in Quebec.

Love you sister.

(PS: It snowed last night. Taz got a little freaked out)

What Up, Montreal?

So, I have officially decided that we suck at keeping in touch.. Last post: JULY.
WHAT THE HECK DUDE.

And yes, I am pinning this on you. This is obviously your fault, because you are the older, more mature and responsible sister.

Any who, I decided that I should check up on this blog, and keep ya in touch. This week has been pretty hectic with school and shiz. We've been having auditions for the Senior musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. Tuesday is the final official audition, wednesday is callbacks, and thursday the cast list goes up. Super excited. Let's hope I get cast this year :). Also, my drama class is doing ROMEO AND JULIET in the spring. My favourite play of all time. So stoked. It's too bad that Leonardo DiCaprio can't be apart of it though, he's a pretty studly Romeo.

I hope that you are having a good time in Montreal, and I hope you have a good time at your job in the morning :)

Love you Sister <3

Last Night in Victoria with My Sister...

Dear Sister Bear,

So right about now your surprise party is winding down and you're about to come home to find your sister listening to weird youtube videos and waiting for her laundry to finish. Tonight is the last official night for us together in Victoria. At least for awhile. We may have to watch a Disney movie.

I leave first thing in the morning and won't see you until Sunday when I'll be distracted and unfortunately you'll have to spend all day waiting. But know that because you were there, I pushed myself a little bit further, a little bit harder and smiled a little bit more.

I never knew you were proud of me sister. I'm sure proud of you, every day.

Until Sunday sister, when we can again throw ice at each other. This time I'll make sure I have more than you.

Love,

Sister 1 (The prettier one)

T-Minus 3/4 Days

I thought I'd take the liberty of posting first on our blog, because as we know, I am the more responsible sister. I still think I should be the older one.

Today we ran your last minute errands for your race in Calgary, which I am very excited to see you in. I know you don't think I find much enjoyment in seeing you run and swim and bike all over the place, but I do. Seeing you go so far and excel in something you love makes me proud to call you my sister. Like when you placed in the top three of your age group in a small triathlon up island, or when you completed your first 10km race. I am glad you have found something that you take so much enjoyment in.

Anyways, it is Monday. Your first Monday free of work. I think you said you're leaving Thursday to Calgary, and the rest of us are leaving Friday. Je suis tres excite :).

We shall post more in the future, but for now

Au Revoir!
